@beercutieandfoodie Orlando Food History Tour: Part 1 🍊🦢 This is Orlando OLDEST restaurant Taproom at Dubsdread opened its doors in 1924 which marks 100 years in 2024 ! Carl Dann, a man who never passed fourth grade, founded the Dubsdread golf course, Orlando’s oldest public golf course, in 1924 and opened Dubsdread Restaurant. During World War II, Dubsdread gained popularity significantly. With over 100,000 serviceman stationed in Orlando, Dubsdread became the unofficial Officer’s Club. This popularity continued after the war was over. In 2001 Steve Gunter and his partner took over after many years of failed restaurant ownership and it’s been a huge success since. The restaurant remains in the same building as when it opened almost 100 years ago ! It serves as a restaurant, a golf course, and a banquet for weddings and events ! My must gets are the crab cake it is unarguably the best crab cake in Orlando it was straight crab no filler! I absolutely loved the chicken Milanese this will be my go to order every time I visit !
